This issue has to have been my favorite of the first six issues, but I say this with fully acknowledging certain problems that many people had with the issue. But firstly lets just take a minute and realize how badass all the members of the League were in this issue. With Aquaman and Wonder Woman taking out Darkseid’s eyes, can you have them do anything more badass than that? No, I don’t think so. I know most people have a problem with Cyborg being the one to defeat Darkseid in the long run of the issue, but honestly I’m pretty fine with it. It makes sense to me why they would do that, here you have the new character to the team (someone we’ve really never had a part of the League as a founding member) that in his new origin has connections to Apokolips and its technology, so why not have him access that to save the day. I also see were people are coming from that Darkseid is to powerful of a bad guy to be faced off against first, but lets face it if it wasn’t for the luck of the League having Cyborg there they wouldn’t have stood a chance. As powerful and awesome the other members of League are there would be no way that they could have even had a chance against Darkseid, and we can see that when he flings them off him when he has a trident and sword in his eyes. It all comes down to luck, and now that Darkseid knows about what Cyborg can do there is no reason we can’t see him come back as an even bigger threat. Overall I liked this issue, I can’t say much else than that. I enjoy The Flash trying to name the League and completely failing in doing so. My biggest problem with the issue is in the Pandora back-up, if she is in some way a universe changing god like power than why the heck does she need guns? I don’t see any reason for her to have guns other than to make her seem more edgy. Anyways that’s might thoughts on issue 6 of Justice League, hope you enjoy them, & remember to pick up issue of Justice League tomorrow.

This issue was not one of my favorites, but there was some fun to be had, like Superman/The Flash running from Darkseid’s Omega Beams in a way reminiscent of the old Superman/Flash race issues. Jim Lee’s art really does showcase some of the extents of the Flash’s powers, and how he is faster than Superman (which I’m a strong supporter of this idea since the whole deal about The Flash is that he is fast, as well it keeps with continuity Geoff Johns established in his Flash Rebirth story) who gets hit and taken by a Parademon. After that Green Lantern rushes in head strong and tries attacking Darkseid to no avail, after which he and Batman end up having a heart to heart where Batman reveals his identity of being Bruce Wayne to Green Lantern and makes him realize that out of the group that they are the only two actual ordinary people there. From there Bruce Wayne goes off to get himself captured by a Parademon in order to be taken to where ever they took Superman (presumably Apokolips) via boom tube, well Green Lantern takes charge and acts as a leader to pull together our group of heroes who would become the Justice League.
My main problem with this issue was with the treatment of Batman, his actions just seemed to me to be really out of character, almost to the point that I lost all disbelief in the story. But giving it time and a second read I found myself enjoying it better. The idea of time and rereads seems to be the key to me finding the most enjoyment out of this title. As I may have mentioned before I am planning a reread of all 6 issue of the first story in Justice League once they are out, I probably won’t do that till May, which I will be doing in order to see if after some time how does the story stand up as a whole.
Remember Justice League issue 6 also comes out on February 29, so look for it on stands this Wednesday.
